and running a full anti-virus scan the laptop was still silent. I chose to downgrade on the display and processor if you fool around with some settings. This wasn’t a big deal to me since I’m always a few feet away from an outlet if I need a charge. They have my address. They know I have issue. They can make it right if they want to provide customer service. It is doing that while let you believe it is smaller than a 15’6 laptop from looking outside. Asus used some magic here.I generally keep unity up at all times and even then no lag. Its crazy fast. Will definitely be sticking with Asus.and the keyboard is nice to type on.
Lid lifts mostly with 1 finger.Only con is it needs to handled with care and the display wobbles a bit whenever u open the laptop. This is my first Windows 10; I like it, (they returned the “Start” button) (I hated Windows 8). Even though this machine has a SSD drive, It takes a full few minutes to start up then is slow in like every application it takes a full 30 seconds to open applications the screen blacks out and I’ve only used this for a few months not to what.which is not great since it was on sale and can’t be had for the price I paid 2 days ago.
However, I’m not sure if the SSD drive is making a sound or if there’s a fan, but there’s DEFINITELY a noise coming from this computer. It sounds like a drive constantly booting up and restarting. Or it might be the fan. I’m not sure if it’s something to worry about, but I will keep an eye on it.but for the price I’m mostly very happy with it. Mostly. Thus far this is the only problem but it is huge. I service a variety of devices that use legacy software systems and more modern systems. I need a USB driver that is compatible with all of these. I have downloaded all sorts of USB driver software and other USB assistant software, but still I have gotten no results. The design is very sleek and at first I was hesitant towards the color shown online but ended up loving it as soon as it arrived. I’ve had it for about a month and so far the only things I’m bothered by are the fact that the battery doesn’t last as long as it’s stated when not plugged in, Sometimes it takes awhile to read but when it does you’re signed in instantly.it still feels sturdy.
and a 4TB 2.5″ ssd. Firefox can still make it crawl, but I have many dozens of tabs open, so not entirely its fault. Handles video decoding fine. it IS part of the trackpad. Oddly enough, Odd, but I won’t return for something that’s bothersome for a few minutes each day. My records of Firefox and Office use straight so far is 9.33 hours between charges. Exactly what I needed! It gives in the middle and sometimes has a “very slight” sunk in appearance. It doesn’t affect operation at all though. It doesn’t acually get internet access until it’s been on for around 5-10 minutes. I’m pretty sure it’s the router that’s handing out the same IP to multiple devices and not a problem w the laptop. Also, didn’t see anyone else mention this issue. The speakers are not well placed–but if you go into the smart audio manager I pick a custom EQ and put everything at max–and it makes the speakers adequate., so no problem there, just a minor annoyance. If you want MS office it only comes with the trial version, but I still think that for the money this laptop is an excellent value.
