I was hesitant to spend more than $500.00, but this thing has a LOT of great features for the price.so felt the 1600×900 was perfect. Besides, If I want 1920×1080, I can use the HDMI Port and connect it to my Big Screen TV.they were center screen, so they drove me crazy and went back.I could use regular CD-Rs but this one requires the Music CD-Rs. The backlight for the keyboard does eat up battery time. The screen is clear I love the spacious key board with the number pad. But I bought it for college and this is a very large screen which served me well for several years. Only surprise was that the case was a tiny amount wider than my prior machine the vendor PCline that sold it are not trustworthy–or Amazon for that matter since they refuse to put packing in the box! Not worth the time and trouble. If the 2nd new laptop battery does not work, I’ll send it back and go with a Dell. I really want the 2nd computer to be working because I like HP,because of the 5G Wireless interface coupled with excellent memory support and superior storage. wonderful price/benefit ratio.
this new one is pretty much an identical HP, other than the keyboard is backlit, which is an awesome upgrade! I love everything about it. Obviously it’s heavy due to size but that is the trade off for the big screen and full number pad keyboard.I’m replacing an all in one HP that is more than 5 years old and working fine so I was looking primarily at HP they left it on my front porch, when I instructed to leave in back porch, the neighbor took care of that. The only drawback is that I thought it was touch screen and I found out that it was not. I still like it though.Any complaints I have regarding the running of the computer are because the program running on it has issues. Was on the phone with HP support for several hours and now they want me to send it back so they can put new hardware in it. Disappointing! i’m happy with it. My old one was an HP 17″ as well. It still functions well.
I could have talked me through the set up but I had called a computer expert and they came over and set up the computer they way I wanted and needed it to be for my needs,I needed a good high quality computer to do what I need to do on a daily basis, so thank you again Amazon they came through as they always do with a high quality product very fast Don’t expect to use more than one program at a time. Any system updates/changes/uninstalls take about twice as long. I even upgraded the Windows 10 Home that came with it to Windows 10 Pro and got great results. The laptop was pristine and the battery lasts and lasts. This computer crashes approximately every 3 hours of play,I have to restart it continually when viewing movies or tv. It doesn’t let me log into Yahoo.com for my mail…I have to use the old one for that.
